How the Indian visa appointment process actually works

What the appointment stage involves, what you need ready beforehand, and what nobody — including us — can promise about availability.

What the appointment stage is

The appointment is a scheduled slot at the relevant application centre. It sits after your information is prepared and before any decision is made, and it is administered entirely by the responsible authority.

What to have ready first

Preparation should be finished before you are thinking about a slot. Arriving at an appointment with an incomplete file wastes the slot, and slots are the scarcest part of the process.

About availability

Availability fluctuates and is controlled by the authority. Any service claiming to guarantee a slot is describing something it does not control. We help you be ready for one; we cannot conjure one.

On the day

Carry the originals of what you submitted, arrive with time in hand, and know what each document in your file is for. Being able to answer simply about your own paperwork matters more than most applicants expect.

Checked against the responsible authority on the date shown. Guidance is informational and does not replace advice for your specific case.

A guide cannot see your documents.

These pages explain the rules in general. Whether your particular bank statement or hospital letter satisfies them is a question for a person — that is what a review is for.
